Pedestrian dies after being struck by vehicle on Mike Padgett Highway, deputies investigating
Augusta, GA – A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle late Tuesday night on Mike Padgett Highway, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded at approximately 11:58 p.m. on July 21 to the area of Mike Padgett Highway, just south of Marvin Griffin Road, following reports of a pedestrian who had been hit by a vehicle.
According to the sheriff’s office, the preliminary investigation indicates the pedestrian was in the roadway when the collision occurred.
Emergency responders transported the pedestrian to a local hospital, where the individual later died from their injuries.
Authorities have not released the identity of the victim or any information about the driver involved.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
Officials said no additional information was available for release as the investigation remains ongoing.
