Richmond County Sheriff’s Office youth campers treated to $200 shopping spree through community donation
Augusta, GA – Ten participants in the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Youth Basketball Camp received a special surprise after Academy Sports + Outdoors treated them to a $200 shopping spree for athletic gear and other essentials.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office said the donation allowed the campers to select new athletic clothing, shoes, and other items during the shopping experience.
According to the sheriff’s office, the opportunity was intended to recognize the campers’ hard work while showing them that their community supports and believes in their future.
Officials said the impact of the donation extended beyond the items the youth received, describing it as an investment in the next generation and a way to encourage young people participating in the department’s basketball camp.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office thanked Academy Sports + Outdoors for its generosity, saying the company’s support helped make the camp a memorable experience for the participants.
