Augusta Georgia Fire Department announces Heavy Wrecker Technical Rescue Training for first responders scheduled for May 2 at Augusta Technical College

AUGUSTA, Ga. — The Augusta Fire Department has announced it will host a Heavy Wrecker Technical Rescue Training event for first responders on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

The training is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Augusta Technical College’s Jack B. Patrick Information Technology Center, located at 3200 Augusta Tech Drive in Augusta.

Officials said the program is intended for firefighters, tower operators, and law enforcement personnel, focusing on response techniques and resources used during incidents involving heavy wreckers.

Registration is required, and participants must sign up using the QR code provided on the event flyer.

The department encouraged eligible first responders to attend and share the information with others in the field who may benefit from the training.
