Richmond County Sheriff’s Office announces funeral arrangements for retired Corporal Willie Tuggle, honoring decades of military and law enforcement service

RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. — The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has announced funeral arrangements for retired Corporal Willie Tuggle, recognizing his decades of service in both the United States military and local law enforcement.

Officials said Tuggle served 22 years in the U.S. military before joining the sheriff’s office, where he worked from 1998 until his retirement in 2022.

During his tenure, he was described as a dedicated and professional public servant.

A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 2 p.m. at the same location, followed by burial at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Sheriff Eugene Brantley and agency officials said Tuggle’s legacy reflects a lifelong commitment to service, discipline, and public safety.

The department encouraged the community to keep his family, friends, and loved ones in their thoughts and prayers during this time of loss.
