19-Year-Old Injured in Shooting on Tuttle Street in Augusta

Augusta, GA – A 19-year-old man was injured in a shooting on Tuttle Street in Augusta late Tuesday evening. According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 700 block of Tuttle Street at approximately 9:08 p.m. after reports of an individual suffering from a gunshot wound.

Upon arrival, deputies found the victim with an apparent gunshot wound and immediately began providing medical aid. Central EMS soon arrived at the scene, and the victim was transported to Wellstar for further treatment.

Authorities have confirmed that the scene is secure, and the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is actively involved in the investigation. While Adetails remain limited, the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.

The incident occurred amid a growing concern over violent crime in the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA), which has seen nearly 200 deaths in the past three years. Communities across the region, spanning both Georgia and South Carolina, have been affected by the rise in violent incidents, prompting local authorities to intensify their efforts in addressing the crisis.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has not released any additional information regarding suspects or motives, but they continue to urge anyone with information to come forward.
