Investigation Underway After Sandersville Man Found Dead

SANDERSVILLE, Ga. – The Sandersville Police Department is currently investigating the death of a local man who was found deceased on Monday, January 27, at a residence on Temple Drive.

According to the police department, officers responded to the scene after receiving a report of an unconscious male lying on the ground. Upon arrival, they determined the man had died and was later identified as Grady Smith.

The department’s Investigation Division quickly joined the scene to begin a full investigation. As of now, there are no obvious signs of assault or foul play. However, due to the unusual circumstances surrounding Smith’s death, authorities have opted to conduct a thorough inquiry to rule out any potential criminal involvement.

Smith’s body has been transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Crime Lab, where an autopsy is being conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

Investigators have already interviewed several individuals in an effort to gather more information. The case remains open and under active investigation.
