AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery that occurred late Sunday night at a local gas station. Deputies responded to a call at the Super Express gas station, located on the 1500 block of Central Avenue, around 9:30 p.m.

According to reports, a suspect described as a black male, wearing a dark hoodie, gray mask, and gloves, entered the store and brandished a handgun. The suspect demanded cash from the register as well as cigarettes. After the robbery, the individual fled on foot toward Druid Park Avenue.

At this time, there are no further details available, and authorities have not released additional information regarding the suspect or the investigation. The Sheriff’s Office is continuing to gather evidence and seek leads in the case.
