Man Arrested in Connection with March Shooting on Dabney Drive
AUGUSTA, Ga. — Authorities have arrested a man wanted for the shooting death of A’kki Pauley in late March.
Donnell Varicy Mitchell, 36, was taken into custody on June 2nd in relation to the incident that occurred on March 19th, 2025, on the 1900 block of Dabney Drive in Augusta.
According to officials, Pauley was shot at least once while seated inside a vehicle. A second victim, Quaderro Hooper, also sustained multiple gunshot wounds but was treated and released from the hospital.
Mitchell is currently being held in the Richmond County Jail and faces charges including murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a crime.
Authorities continue to investigate the case.
