Woman Arrested in Connection to February Shooting in Augusta

Augusta, GA – A 28-year-old woman has been arrested in connection to a February 25 shooting that left a homeless man with life-threatening injuries in Augusta, Georgia. Alianna “Yanna” Mae Bottoms, 27, was taken into custody on a charge of aggravated assault following the incident, which occurred just after 9 p.m. on Tuttle Street.

According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, a woman in the area reported hearing someone screaming for help. When she went outside to investigate, she found the victim across the street. The man then approached her yard and revealed he had been shot. The neighbor immediately called 911, and emergency responders quickly transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for serious, life-threatening wounds.

Bottoms was arrested on Friday, just days after authorities issued a public alert identifying her as a suspect. Authorities have also stated they are looking for 19-year-old Skylar Nicole Kennedy, who is wanted for allegedly providing false statements to law enforcement in relation to the case.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to gather information. No additional details regarding the motive behind the shooting have been released at this time.
