Two Arrested in Drug Bust in Screven County, Georgia

Screven County, GA – Two individuals were arrested on April 24th following an extensive investigation into drug sales in the area. Jemell Cooper and Thomas Cooper were taken into custody after a search warrant was executed at a residence on Hiltonia-Perkins Road in Screven County.

The operation, which involved the Screven County Sheriff’s Office, Sylvania Police Department, and the Effingham County Drug Suppression Unit, led to the seizure of significant quantities of illegal substances, including cocaine, crack cocaine, MDMA, and marijuana. Alongside the drugs, authorities also recovered cash and firearms from the property.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the specific charges that will be filed against the two suspects, but further details are expected to be released in the coming days.

Sheriff’s officials said the investigation into the suspects’ drug activities had been ongoing for some time, and the successful raid has disrupted a major drug operation in the area. They added that the seizure of both illegal drugs and weapons was a significant win for local law enforcement.

As of now, both suspects remain in custody as law enforcement continues to gather evidence and prepare charges.
