Suspect Wanted in Aggravated Assault and Kidnapping in Augusta, Authorities Say

AUGUSTA, Ga. — The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for a suspect involved in an aggravated assault and kidnapping that occurred on Saturday in the 2700 block of Deans Bridge Road, according to law enforcement officials.

Authorities have identified the suspect as 25-year-old William Walter Thomas. He is described as standing 6 feet 7 inches tall and weighing approximately 270 pounds. Law enforcement officials also noted that Thomas is known to frequent the area around Gordon Highway, near the old Regency Mall and Kissingbower Road.

Due to the nature of the incident, investigators have warned that Thomas is considered armed and dangerous. They urge the public to exercise caution if encountering him and to avoid direct contact.
