Shooting Death Under Investigation in Waynesboro, Ga.

WAYNESBORO, Ga. – Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in Burke County. The Burke County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call around 5:45 a.m. on the 800 block of Four Point Road, where they found 30-year-old Telvin Osborne suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Osborne was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Investigators have confirmed that the victim was found in the master bedroom of the residence.

At the scene, deputies made contact with the complainant, identified as Hannah Cobb. Cobb has been fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation, according to officials. Details surrounding the shooting remain limited as authorities continue their work.

Out of respect for the victim’s family, investigators withheld further information until the family had been notified. The Burke County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division is diligently working to uncover the full facts surrounding the incident.

This marks the second shooting reported in the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) on the same day. Earlier in the evening, a separate shooting incident occurred in Augusta, where a young boy was injured.

The recent spate of violence is part of an alarming rise in crime across the region, which has seen nearly 200 lives lost in the past three years. Both rural and urban communities on both sides of the Savannah River have been deeply affected by this surge in violent crime.

The Burke County Sheriff’s Office has yet to release additional details on the shooting, and the investigation remains ongoing.
