Shooting at MacArthur Park Apartments Results in One Fatality, Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Investigates
RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. — The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a homicide following a shooting that occurred Thursday night at the MacArthur Park Apartments.
According to authorities, deputies responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 10:28 p.m. on May 22nd at the 100 block of Integrity Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
One of the victims has been identified by the Richmond County Coroner’s Office as Kameron Mason, 28, of Augusta. Mason was pronounced dead at the scene. The second individual was transported to MCG/Wellstar hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation, and no suspects have been publicly identified at this time.
Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the incident to contact the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
