One Dead in Early Morning Crash on Deans Bridge Road
Augusta, Ga. – One person is dead following a two-vehicle crash early Thursday morning in Augusta.
According to the Richmond County Coroner’s Office, the accident occurred at approximately 7:06 a.m. at the intersection of Deans Bridge Road and Dover Street. Emergency crews responded to the scene and transported the victim to Wellstar MCG Health, where he was pronounced dead at 7:41 a.m.
The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin. An autopsy has been scheduled as part of the ongoing investigation.
Authorities confirm that the crash involved serious injuries, and the circumstances leading up to the collision remain under investigation.
Traffic in the area was heavily impacted during the morning commute, with authorities urging drivers to avoid the scene and use alternate routes.
