Funeral Arrangements Announced for Fallen Columbia County Deputy Brandon Sikes
COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. — Funeral services have been scheduled for Columbia County Sheriff’s Deputy Brandon Sikes, who was killed in the line of duty on Saturday, April 26.
Deputy Sikes, a dedicated law enforcement officer and a well-respected member of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, will be honored during a public funeral on Monday, May 5, at 12:00 p.m. The service will be held at the Columbia County Performing Arts Center.
Arrangements are being handled by Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors.
Sikes is survived by his wife, Amber Sikes, who is also employed by the Sheriff’s Office, and their daughter, Lyndsey. Colleagues describe him as a devoted husband, loving father, and a public servant whose commitment to protecting others never wavered.
In lieu of flowers, the Sikes family has requested that donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, an organization that supports the families of fallen first responders and military personnel.
The community is mourning the loss of Deputy Sikes, whose death marks a tragic reminder of the risks law enforcement officers face every day. Flags across the county have been lowered to half-staff in his honor, and fellow deputies have vowed to carry on his legacy of service.
Additional tributes and details about the service are expected to be released in the coming days.
