AUGUSTA, Ga. – A fatal crash occurred late Saturday night on I-520 eastbound between Mike Padgett Highway and Doug Bernard Boulevard, prompting a response from the Richmond County Coroner’s Office.

According to authorities, a vehicle was being pursued by law enforcement officers when the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with a guardrail. The crash resulted in significant damage, and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 11:45 p.m.
