Community March to Raise Awareness and Take Action Against Gun Violence in Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga. — In a united effort to address the growing concerns over gun violence, the CSRA Community-In-Action and the Monroe Johnson Foundation have organized a march set for Saturday, March 29. The event aims to raise awareness and spark action within the community.

The march will begin at Dyess Park at 12 p.m. and will proceed to May Park, where a brief program will be held to further discuss the issue and offer ways for individuals to get involved in combating gun violence. Local churches have generously offered to provide van transportation for participants, ensuring that those who wish to march can travel from May Park to Dyess Park with ease.

Following the march, attendees can look forward to food, snacks, and a supportive community atmosphere. For those unable to physically participate in the march, the event also offers an indoor gathering at the gym. There, participants can enjoy music, engage in prayer, and receive support from others in attendance.

The organizers hope this event will serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of community action and solidarity in the fight against gun violence. With a clear focus on uniting individuals across Augusta, the march aims to foster a safer, more connected environment for all.
