Augusta Teen Wanted in Connection to Fatal Shooting

AUGUSTA, GA. – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a 16-year-old suspect in connection to a deadly shooting that occurred on Cooney Circle on Saturday night. Authorities have identified the victim as 32-year-old James Wise, of Augusta, who was fatally shot during the incident.

According to the Richmond County Coroner’s Office, Wise was discovered inside a residence with a gunshot wound to the neck. Deputies responded to the scene at approximately 7:09 p.m., where they pronounced Wise dead.

The sheriff’s office has issued a warrant for 16-year-old Lucas Bradley, who is facing charges of murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Investigators are working to locate Bradley, who is considered a suspect in the shooting.

At approximately 8:05 p.m., a large crowd had gathered near the scene, prompting a heightened law enforcement presence as authorities continued their investigation.

An autopsy for James Wise has been scheduled by the coroner’s office, and further details surrounding the motive of the shooting remain under investigation.
