Augusta Police Investigate Armed Robbery at Gas Station

AUGUSTA, Ga. — The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating an armed robbery that occurred Sunday night at a local gas station in Augusta. Deputies responded to the Super Express, located at 1502 Central Avenue, around 9:37 p.m. after receiving reports of the incident.

According to authorities, a Black male entered the store and brandished a handgun before demanding cigarettes and cash from the register. The suspect, who was wearing a dark hoodie, a gray mask, and gloves, reportedly threatened the clerk before taking the items and fleeing the scene on foot.

Witnesses stated that the suspect ran toward Druid Park Avenue following the robbery.

At this time, investigators have not released additional information about the suspect or the ongoing investigation. Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward and assist in identifying the individual involved.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office continues to look into the incident, and further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
