Augusta Man Arrested on Charges of Sexual Abuse of 8-Year-Old Child
AUGUSTA, Ga. — A local man was arrested and is currently held in the Richmond County Jail following allegations of sexually abusing an 8-year-old child.
According to authorities, the incident occurred on May 21st in the 2000 block of Cairo Drive in Augusta. Robert Woods, 26, is accused of forcing the young victim to perform oral sex acts.
Court documents state that Woods allegedly told the child he had a “snakebite” and claimed the child needed to “suck it out,” explaining it was located “in between his legs, but was not on his legs.”
Woods faces charges including Aggravated Child Molestation and Aggravated Sodomy. He remains in custody as the investigation continues.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with additional information to come forward.
