Augusta Homeowners Get a Head Start on Masters Week Rentals for Next Year

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Although the excitement of Masters Week has just concluded, many homeowners are already looking ahead to next year, eager to take advantage of the lucrative rental opportunities that come with the prestigious event.

Corporate Quarters, a local family-owned business that has been operating for over 30 years, is at the forefront of helping homeowners rent out their properties during the Masters Tournament. This year, the agency managed around 1,500 homes available for rent, with many property owners already preparing for the upcoming event.

Kelly Starr, Director of Operations and Events at Corporate Quarters, emphasized the importance of working with a local agency when renting a home for the tournament. “It’s crucial to go through an agency, especially a local one. That way, you know who’s going to be in your home. A contract is in place to cover anything that could go wrong,” said Starr. The agency’s role is particularly important for homeowners who may be unfamiliar with renting out their properties for short-term stays.

Mindy Toole, a Masters renter and CPA, echoed the importance of using an agency to protect oneself. “We absolutely use an agency. Protect yourself,” she advised, underscoring the need for peace of mind when renting out a home.

Corporate Quarters’ clientele comes from all over the world, looking for homes that offer more than just a place to stay. Renters often seek properties with outdoor spaces, pools, and landscaping that provide a resort-like feel. A key feature many guests look for is on-suite bathrooms in every bedroom, an amenity that caters to the high-profile business networking that takes place during the tournament.

“These clients may not know each other, as they’re here to network and attend the tournament, but they are also here to gain or secure business,” Starr explained.

For many homeowners, renting their properties during the Masters is a financial boon. Mindy Toole and her husband purchased a home in Champions Retreat specifically to rent it out during Masters Week. “I already knew about the Augusta Rule, but until you get down here and live it, you don’t quite understand how big of an industry this is,” said Toole.

The Augusta Rule allows homeowners to rent their properties for up to 14 days tax-free, making it a valuable opportunity for those looking to offset the cost of homeownership, make improvements, or even fund a vacation. For many, renting their home during Masters Week provides a significant financial benefit.

Despite concerns following Hurricane Helene, which caused widespread damage in the area, Corporate Quarters confirmed that the majority of rental homes were repaired in time for the tournament. Starr noted that many homeowners were able to complete repairs on their properties, whether it was fixing roofs, restoring outdoor kitchens, or rebuilding pools.

“Most of our homeowners were able to get those repairs done in time,” said Starr. “Whether it was a roof or an outdoor kitchen or a pool that was destroyed, they were able to get that done.”

As Masters Week draws to a close, Augusta homeowners are already preparing for next year’s event, ensuring their homes are ready to welcome guests once again. The demand for rental properties continues to rise, and local agencies like Corporate Quarters remain integral in connecting homeowners with renters from across the globe.

With the 2025 Masters just around the corner, homeowners are setting the stage for another profitable and successful rental season.
