Shooting Leaves 19-Year-Old Injured on Tuttle Street in Augusta

Augusta, GA – A 19-year-old male was injured in a shooting on Tuttle Street in Augusta late Tuesday night, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Tuttle Street at approximately 9:08 p.m. after receiving reports of an individual with a gunshot wound. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies located the victim, who appeared to have sustained a gunshot injury. Authorities treated the victim on-site until emergency medical services (EMS) arrived to transport him to Wellstar for further treatment.

While the victim’s condition has not been officially released, deputies confirmed that the scene was secured, and no further danger was reported to the public. The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) has also responded to the scene, and an active investigation is underway.

This incident is part of a troubling trend in the region, where violent crime has been on the rise over the past few years. The Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) has witnessed nearly 200 homicides in the past three years, with both large cities and small communities on both sides of the Savannah River affected.

Authorities have not disclosed details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting, and the investigation is still ongoing. Deputies are urging anyone with information to come forward.
