AUGUSTA, Ga. — The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a “suspicious situation” at an Augusta apartment complex after responding to reports of gunshots on Tuesday afternoon.

Around 2:55 p.m., deputies were called to the 1500 block of 15th Street at the Legacy at Walton Green Apartments. Authorities confirmed they arrived at the scene following multiple reports of gunfire. As of now, the investigation remains ongoing, and one individual has been detained in connection with the incident.
