The incident unfolded on the evening of March 22nd, when the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office was alerted by the Edgefield Sheriff’s Office about a silver GMC pickup truck that was being pursued westbound on Interstate 20 toward Augusta, Georgia. As the pursuit crossed into Richmond County, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Units took over at the intersection of Washington Road and I-20.
